it just keeps going up and up. this morning i paid 3.63/gallon. i put in fifteen bucks and it just got over a quarter of a tank full. this war drumming with iran when we have companies privately giving away our nuclear technology to them is ridiculous. i will not support this war that is only intended to kill soldiers and line the pockets of the rich.

Gas is $3.39 a gallon here in KY. That is down from $3.49 a week or so ago. I know this tells you how old I am but I remember paying .25 a gallon for gas. My husband was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ and we had a VW bug and we could go anywhere for a couple dollars. Those were fun days!

$3.70-$3.77 is the cheapest you can get it here in Los Angeles. It all depends on local city taxes for where the stations are located. Gas here in San Pedro is about 6-12 higher than in Torrance where I work.

What about the price of diesel? Higher diesel prices mean higher food costs. Diesel is used in transportation and in agricultural machinery so even buying local means you are paying for diesel. You can always try to drive less, but it's not so easy to eat less. Diesel is 10-20% more expensive than regular when it used to be less or very close to the price of regular. It's not just supply and demand here because if that were true refineries would produce more diesel because it sells for more which would then lower the price.
I drive a diesel so I get "hit" at both ends, but I am more annoyed at big oil for allowing diesel prices to get so much higher than gas when it effects much more than just my wallet.

*Speaking from my old rocking chair* Sonny, I remember when gas was 20 cents a gallon and when we went cruising after school we all pitched in a dime or quarter. I remember my dad cursing on our annual road trip about the high way robber price of 40 cents.
Hope this was good for a laugh.

Hey, don't forget the 'green stamps' that we used to get when gasoline was under a quarter. I got my first baseball glove from those long Sunday trips fighting in the back seat with my brothers!

My mother collected green stamps for years. I remember going to the redemption center with books and books of green stamps. If I remember correctly, we got a vacuum cleaner!
