As your second life account ages and you play it more often, you will notice your second life inventory grow. It will become cluttered, messy, unorganized and the number of items you have will be huge. The most amount of damage on our inventory in second life is done when we are new to the virtual world. When we are new, most of us explore and pick up any free item we come across. A few months later after we matured in the virtual world and know more of what is second life, we come to the point in our game play that we realized that we have way too many items in our inventory and it is a mess, making it extremely hard to find things when we need it fast.
This article is based on using the Imprudence and Phoenix viewers. You can still use a lot of these steps in any viewer, but counting Wholesale Authentic NFL Jerseys on the viewer it can be a quite different layout and locating your inventory and such will or may be different then the steps below.
The first thing you should do is open your inventory, for the Imprudence and Phoenix viewers, it is on the bottom right hand of your screen (if you need help locating your inventory in another viewer then try the second life website.) At the top of your inventory, you should see the amount of items you have, options like file, create and so on. A bit lower down you will see tabs that are labeled as "All Items", "Recent Items", and "Worn Items". Make sure the "All Items" tab is selected and then go to the top of your inventory and select "Create" and then select "New Folder".
When you create a new folder, it will be named "New folder", which you will need to change. Right click on the new folder and select "Rename". The first folder you should make is one named after your avatar. For example, your avatar is named Kate, then name your new folder "Kate". If you want it to be listed near the top then name it "!!!Kate". Most inventorys are alphabetized and the exclamation mark is one of the symbols that seem to be listed first. If it is listed close to the top of your inventory then it will be even easier to find each time you need it.
Now that you have that folder you will need to create sub folders for it. A sub folder is just a folder with in a folder. The "Kate" folder is for things your avatar wears, such as clothes, hats, shoes, tattoos and so on. You can make as many sub folders as you want. You can have socks, gloves, dresses, shorts, pants, tops, jewelry, and whatever you wish to break your outfits down into. The sub folders I made and seem to work really well for me are, clothes, eyes, hair, huds, shapes, shoes, skins, tattoos, accessories, AO's, and full avatars. Some of those sub folders need sub folders of their own to make them even more organized. So, with in the clothes folder, I have bikinis, costumes, dresses, full outfits, neko, bottoms, tops, pj's, socks and a gloves folder.
To make sub folders, just create a new folder like you did for the first one. Then all you have to do is click and drag that folder to the folder you want it to be in. So, if you wanted it to be a sub folder for the "Kate" folder then drag it to "Kate" and drop it. Then name that folder "clothes". Then move on to making sub folders for the clothes folder if you want it to be even more organized and easier to navigate through.
Now that you have your folder and sub folder for your avatars clothing and accessories, move on to other items you may have. A lot of second life players have a home of some sort in second life. That means, we will need furniture. Close your main folder for your avatars clothing and accessories that you made and create a whole new folder and name it "Furniture". Within this folder create your sub folders. I have found it best to make folders for furniture like bathroom, bedroom, living room, kitchen, and outside. You can of course create as many as you want for whatever you wish.
Creating the folders is the easy part of organizing your inventory. You will have to go through all your folders and see what they are and where you need to move them to. You will also need to delete trash items. Get rid of things you don't need. In some cases having a large inventory can cause crashing when trying to load your inventory. When I first started playing second life, I had a computer that barely could handle the demands and every time I tried to load my inventory up, I would crash. (Crashing is when your second life freezes and then shuts down on you and you have to log back in.) You can create folders for anything you want. Some of the other folders I have are vehicles, houses, weapons, toys, food, games, and poses. Just make the folders that you need. www.tidejerseys.com
Another way to bring down the number of items in you inventory without having to delete things is to make boxes. To create a box, all you have to do is be in a place that allows you to build and then right click on the ground and select build or create (counting on what viewer you have). Then select box and left click on the ground and a box will form. You will have a menu up on the left hand side of your screen usually after you create a box, this is the edit menu for that box. Click on the tab that is labeled as "contents" and in that section you will drag items from your inventory into that space. You can also rename this box, so if you wanted to put nothing but buildings and houses in it, you could name it "Houses". To name rename this box, go to the "General" tab and where it says "Name", put your new name there. Then at the bottom of that section, at the main bottom there is a place labeled as "When left-clicked" wholesale nfl jerseys and under that there is a drop down menu. In that drop down menu select "Open". This will allow you easily to open this box to get NIKE NFL Jerseys the content out later. This box just serves as a storage space for items you won't be using often but also do not want to throw away. Putting items into boxes brings down your inventory items number and means less clutter. www.tidejerseys.com
If you cheap hats organize your inventory and keep it that way, you will have a much easier time finding things when you need them. That means a more enjoyable second life.
