An immediate withdrawal of all combat troops from Afghanistan and a substantial increase in the amount of funding and tax incentives to businesses that hire for veterans. New funding for job training and job placement services particularly in the areas of technology, infrastructure rebuilding and green energy. The enactment of new comprehensive programs dedicated to the treatment of the emotional and physical injuries sustained by veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. Our veterans, who have sacrificed everything for this country, are committing suicide at an alarming and unprecedented rate of one person every 80 minutes. The 99% of the American People demand assistance to our veterans now.

Veterans joined to serve our country. They deserve to be able to continue serving anywhere in the USA. This can be done by offering a certain number of service jobs such as working parks and recreation etc in cities and towns all over the USA. If one veteran moves to a town and there is a empty position that veteran should get that job. Otherwise it should be filled by another veteran. When i got out of the USMC in 1974 i was offered a C.E.T.A. = comprehensive employement training act job working parks and recreation in N. Calif. I also did solid waste when a burning dump was closed i watched a new container site. There i started a recycling center as i collected bottles and cans in old used trash cans people wanted to dispose. However, my job ended after an 18 month funding. That was the last time i worked a regular job. From that time on i became a volunteer at other people farms / properties for a place to stay. I was basically homeless. I would have much rather worked as a service member to any community. Veterans are not your regular workers. They need to serve somewhere. they need to be guaranteed a job in some form in towns and cities all over the USA. That will help them to feel like contributing members of society. if they decide and can fit into the regular working world so be it. However, a veteran never should be left floating around wondering what they can do. It probably cost the goverment and tax payers even more having to deal with veterans depressions than it would if they had just had a list of job opening in cities and towns across the country. Please help our veterans so they don’t have to wonder the streets begging people for work and a place to stay.
