Here's the question of the month...
Where is the voice of all the delegate candidates regarding the turmoil that now exists within the 99% Declaration group? At last count, there were 244 delegates signed up. Yet, all I seem to see is the same names posting the same things over and over ad nauseum.
I'm wondering if it's possible that 244 people don't give a s--- about what's going on, or do they simply have lives to lead? Are the delegates all just sitting on their hands on the sidelines waiting for the dust to settle? Are they just waiting for someone to give them their "marching orders?"
IMHO, all of the delegate candidates should be out there right now, collecting signatures on petitions to get them appointed as a delegate... yeah that's right.... NO "election." It's for show. It's something Michael Pollok dreamed up. It's not necessary! It's a waste of time and money. The discussion needs to be on the "selection of delegates" not the "election of delegates".
In the meantime, while all the petty bickering is going on and almost everyone wonders what it's all about, the delegates remain silent. They need to be out there right now conducting town hall meetings and getting to know the constituents in their voting districts. It's pretty hard to expect them to be motivated to do this when things are in such a state of confusion. STOP IT!

Hi tdt, I'm a delegate candidate, Illinois 4th District. I post. I don't think I've been "posting the same things over and over ad nauseum," but since you're asking, I'll tell you: any movement that expects to have the kind of impact that I understand the 99%D wants to have will not achieve it through concensus or by coddling obstructionist. If the 99%D wants to be taken seriously, its leadership needs to play hardball, that starts by cutting loose the deadwood that has accumulated around the movement without looking back. I haven't seen that sort of leadership in the 99&D, so although I would like to be part of real change through this idea, until the leadership shows more control over this movement than what I've seen until now, I'm not surprised that you perceive folks are sitting on the sideline.

Hello,
Blake LaCroix, Louisiana 4th district. I'm hare every day. I do not post on the "state of affairs" because there is nothing to gain or learn in that. As far as having a town hall meeting goes the first question that will come is what do you people stand for and replying, "well we are working that out and I cannot speak for the rest the group..." and then I loose the audience. You only get one chance for making a first impression and without agreed language people just will not give you the time of day. We are in the building stages bringing new people aboard every day. Let us have a chance to grow first. There will be a time for town hall meetings in the future. "Marching Orders", we better have some because some of us are new to this (like me). Currently I'm running unopposed so there is no difference between petitions and voting at this point. My question is why is everyone posting on the "state of affairs" and not helping to working out what the message is. I'm for the 99% not whoever is in charge today.

I've posted a bit... and I'm also online networking with other regional Occupy and 99%-oriented groups to push for more voters and delegate candidates from Virginia.
I'd say I have been quite the opposite of silent during all of this.

I use the phrases all of the time. I'm an active delegate candidate working to build the voter and potential delegate base.
I have had some discussion with a family attorney. It seems he would have some difficulty winning a suit against me. As such, I will continue to post to *all* pertinent groups containing delegate candidates and voters, as is my right as a delegate candidate. Should someone attempt to delete my candidate profile and try to claim otherwise, they might find themselves on the receiving end of a lawsuit from me.
I appreciate the concerns for those posting to the forums and Facebook; however, I would suggest anyone with access to an attorney have a consultation with them to determine if there is any liability concerning your actions. If not, then continue supporting the 99% in all of its forms.
Let those with honesty, integrity, and of decent character act appropriately and let those who have deficit in one or more of those act as they will. The preceding statement is not a direct or personal attack on any individual; rather, it is a generic statement with no specific application, except as perceived by the individuals reading... as such, it is not classifiable as any form of defamation.
